联合国支援酷刑受害者国际日14家团体呼吁对缅军政权采取国际行动

综合消息:6月26日是联合国支援酷刑受害者国际日,14家民间社会团结发表联合声明,呼吁包括东盟在内的所有联合国成员国就缅军政权使用武力针对平民一事向其施加政治压力。


缅甸妇女联盟(WLB)一名成员向媒体表示,发表声明是为了呼吁国际社会为受缅军政权侵犯人权的受害者伸张正义。


据悉,声明中包括4点要求,即不与缅军政权建立正式关系;实施全面武器禁运;对缅军及亲缅军群体实施经济制裁;结束对政治犯的迫害及将肇事者移交国际刑事法院(ICC)。声明指出,在军事政变发生一年多后,已有95人在审讯和监禁中死亡,平民的死亡人数也上升至2021人。


发布联合声明的包括缅甸政治犯援助协会(AAPP)、亚洲正义与人权组织、全若开学生及青年联盟、缅甸内战博物馆、平等缅甸、人权捍卫协会、孟人权基金会、缅甸知识中心、克伦妇女联盟、人权记录网络、德昂民间组织、克伦尼青年联盟、妇女联盟及正义妇女组织。



14 groups on UN International Day for Victims of Torture call for international action against Myanmar military regime


Comprehensive news: On June 26, the United Nations International Day for Victims of Torture, 14 civil societies united to issue a joint statement calling on all UN member states, including ASEAN, to exert political pressure on the Myanmar military regime for using force against civilians.


A member of the Women's League of Myanmar (WLB) told the media that the statement was made to call on the international community to seek justice for victims of human rights abuses by the Myanmar military regime.


It is reported that the statement includes four demands, namely not to establish formal relations with the Myanmar military regime; to implement a comprehensive arms embargo; to impose economic sanctions on the Myanmar military and pro-Myanmar military groups; to end the persecution of political prisoners and to hand over the perpetrators to international criminal law Court of Justice (ICC). More than a year after the military coup, 95 people have died in interrogation and incarceration, and the death toll of civilians has risen to 2,021, the statement noted.


The joint statement was issued by the Myanmar Association for Political Prisoners Aid (AAPP), Asian Justice and Human Rights Organization, All Rakhine Students and Youth Alliance, Myanmar Civil War Museum, Equal Myanmar, Human Rights Defense Association, Mon Human Rights Foundation, Myanmar Knowledge Center, Karen Women's Alliance, Human Rights Records Network, Ta'ang Civil Society, Karenni Youth Alliance, Women's Alliance, and Women for Justice.
