综合消息，7月18日，东盟议会人权委员会（APHR）敦促东盟缅甸问题特使会见缅甸民族团结政府（NUG）。柬埔寨作为东盟轮值主席国，其首相应该与缅甸的民主领导人进行沟通。
东盟议会人权委员会前议员汤姆·维拉林（TomVillarin）表示，国际社会，特别是东盟成员国需要知道，大多数缅甸公民将民族团结政府视为合法政府。如果东盟缅甸问题特使布拉索昆认真落实“东盟五点共识”，比起与非法的缅军政权会面，他更应该与民族团结政府接触。
东盟议会人权委员会还再次敦促东盟追究缅军领导人敏昂莱及缅军方所犯下的罪行，以及未能执行“东盟共同协议”的责任。指出缅军是缅甸不稳定的关键因素，东盟成员国不应承认其非法统治。表示缅甸要从衰落中恢复过来，并看到民主得到实施，就应该支持民族团结政府和缅甸人民。
Asean parliamentary human rights committee urges Asean envoy to formally meet with government of national unity
Comprehensive news, on July 18, the ASEAN Parliamentary Human Rights Committee (APHR) urged the ASEAN Special Envoy on Myanmar to meet with the Myanmar National Unity Government (NUG). Cambodia, as ASEAN's rotating chair, should communicate with Myanmar's democratic leaders as its prime minister.
Tom Villarin, a former member of the ASEAN Parliament Human Rights Committee, said the international community, especially ASEAN member states, needs to know that most Myanmar citizens see the government of national unity as the legitimate government. If ASEAN's special envoy for Myanmar, Bra Sokhon, earnestly implements the "ASEAN Five-Point Consensus", he should contact the National Unity Government more than the illegal Myanmar military regime.
The ASEAN Parliamentary Human Rights Committee also urged ASEAN to hold Burmese army leader Min Aung Hlaing and the Myanmar military responsible for their crimes and failure to implement the ASEAN Common Agreement. Noting that the Burmese army is a key factor in Myanmar's instability, ASEAN member states should not recognize its illegal rule. Said that if Myanmar is to recover from its decline and see democracy implemented, it should support the Government of National Unity and the people of Myanmar.
