据克伦民族联盟（KNU）消息，7月5日，一名曾获得过英雄称号的缅警察中士泽亚在帕本镇携武器投诚克伦民族解放军（KNLA）5旅。
来自帕本警察局的警察中士泽亚，现年38岁，携带一支V8-63突击步枪，子弹114发、两枚手榴弹及两把匕首向克伦民族解放军（KNLA）5旅投诚。
据悉，泽亚在成为一名警员之前，曾在缅军部队服役整整13年，并在果敢战场中对4527高地及丹卡貌阵地实施进攻期间，获得缅军授予的“英雄”荣誉称号。
他阐述“缅军恐怖主义，非法篡夺了人民的权力，我看到他们对无辜平民的逮捕、折磨及杀害，我不想再在这种环境中服役。”
在缅军部队中服役13年后他被调入警察部队，并于2018年在仰光地区洛卡第8警察营完成了训练，随后便在若开邦孟都镇第6警察营服役。2021年8月21日起在克伦邦帕本镇警察安全部门以警察中士任职。
泽亚表示，“我不会后悔我的选择，在这边受到革命组织的热烈欢迎及关心。我想告诉剩下的警察同志们，出来吧，我们必须找到一条路，不需要害怕，革命组织会热烈欢迎的。”

According to the Karen National Union (KNU), on July 5, a Burmese police sergeant who was awarded the title of Hero, surrendered with weapons to the 5th Brigade of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) in Phaben township.
Officer Zeya, 38, from Paben Police Station surrendered to the 5th Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Brigade armed with a V8-63 assault rifle and 114 rounds of ammunition, two grenades and two daggers.
It is reported that Zeya served in the Burmese army for 13 years before becoming a police officer, and was awarded the honorary title of "hero" by the Burmese army in the offensive on the 4527 heights of the Kokang battlefield and the Dankamang position.
He elaborated, "Terrorism by the Tatmadaw has illegally usurped the power of the people. I have seen them arrest, torture and kill innocent civilians. I don't want to serve in this environment anymore."
He was transferred to the police force after 13 years of service in the Myanmar Army and completed his training in 2018 at the 8th Police Battalion in Lokha, Yangon Region, before serving with the 6th Police Battalion in Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State. Appointed as Sergeant of Police Security Department of Pabang Township, Kayin State from 21 August 2021.
Zeya said: "I will not regret my choice, I have been warmly welcomed and cared by the revolutionary organization here. I want to tell the remaining police comrades, come out, we must find a way, don't be afraid, the revolutionary organization will be affected by A warm welcome."
